Christmastime in Carroll County

The Christmas season kicks into high gear in Carroll County this weekend with the annual Christmas parades in Berryville, Eureka Springs and Green Forest.

Eureka Springs will hold its Christmas parade of lights at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6. This year’s parade features the theme “A Board Game Christmas!”

Green Forest’s Christmas parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. This year’s theme is “A Storybook Christmas!”

Berryville has a slate of events scheduled. Biz-Z-Bee Super Flea, Hidden Treasures and The Painted Poppy will host a 3-day long cookie crawl from Thursday, Dec. 5, through Saturday, Dec. 7, benefiting multiple charities. For more information visit Biz-Z-Bee Super Flea on Facebook.

Brashears will offer free Grinch and Santa photos at their Berryville location from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7.

The 3rd Annual Christmas on the Square and Berryville Tree Lighting Ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, on the Berryville Public Square, with activities for all ages including appearances by the Grinch and Santa.

Other activities will include arts and crafts, songs by the Carroll County Carolers, music with KTHS, a basket raffle supporting the Carroll County Historical Society and a food drive for the Loaves and Fishes food bank.

The historical society will be selling hot cocoa and cider from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. to raise funds for its museum. Chester Insurance Group will be serving hot cocoa and coffee from 5:15 p.m. to 6 p.m. The Berryville Chamber of Commerce’s Junior Chamber will have a hot cocoa bar and photos with the Grinch to raise money for its scholarship fund from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Hometown Coffee and Cafe.

Mayor Tim McKinney will read a holiday story to the kids and light the Christmas tree.

The annual Berryville Christmas Parade will begin at 6 p.m. After the parade there will be a Christmas party at the Berryville Community Center. There will be hot cocoa and cookies and Santa will be handing out gifts to anyone under the age of 12.
