Christmas season will swing into full gear across Carroll County this weekend, with Christmas parades in Eureka Springs, Green Forest and Berryville.
Eureka Springs’ annual Parade of Lights will roll through downtown starting at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2. This year’s parade theme is National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Santa Claus will be a part of the parade.
Just before the parade, at 5:30 p.m., Eureka Springs Mayor Butch Berry will flip a switch in Basin Spring Park to turn on the city’s Christmas light display.
On Saturday, Dec. 3, the Green Forest Christmas parade begins at 10 a.m.
Santa will be a part of the parade, escorted by the Green Forest cheerleaders. Miss Merry Christmas contestants also will be on hand, and volunteers will be judging parade participants in several categories.
The Berryville Christmas Parade will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3.
The parade will follow the traditional route from Danny’s Tire through the square, ending at the Berryville Community Center parking lot.
This year’s theme is “What Christmas Means To Me.”
After the parade, everyone is invited to the Berryville Community Center Banquet Hall for an after- party.
Prizes will be awarded to parade entries in several categories.
