Charlene L. Gates-Phillips was born in Louisiana on January 29, 1947, to Marjorie (Amacker) Lyons. Charlene passed away July 27, 2023, in Eureka Springs at the age of 76.
Charlene married her best friend, James Phillips, on July 9, 2010. She enjoyed gardening, Christian movies and owning and managing The Christian Bookstore. Charlene liked to organize events and was active in El Shai Ministries.
Charlene is survived by her husband of 13 years, James Phillips; son, Charles Chambers and wife Leah; grandchildren, Matt, Samuel and Bryce, along with other family members and friends. She is preceded by her parents, Burleigh and Marjorie Lyons; son, Chad Chambers; and first husband, Bobby Gates. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Kings Hill Pioneer Church in Berryville.
