The Greater Berryville Area Chamber of Commerce honored several outstanding local individuals and businesses at its annual awards banquet Thursday, Oct. 27, at the Berryville Community Center.
A total of six awards were presented:
• The 2022 Youth Ambassador Award was presented to Berryville High School senior Emma Hall.
• Worley’s Tire (Brad and Allyson Worley) received the 2022 Business Beautification Award.
• Garner’s Drive-In (Charlene Elkins, Sandra Beeson and Frances Ross) received the 2022 Business Excellence Award.
• The Hangout (Tina and Carl Ward) was presented the Noteworthy New Business Award for 2022.
• Kristy Noble-Tesch received the 2022 KTHS Tom Earls Distinguished Ambassador Award.
• The Burt Stacy Berryville Loyalty Award was presented to Tim Summers.
The featured speaker was Arkansas Razorbacks basketball legend and former NBA All-Star Sidney Moncrief, who led Arkansas to its first Final Four appearance in 1978 and was selected with the fifth pick in that year’s NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. Moncrief played 12 seasons with the Bucks and the Atlanta Hawks. During his remarks, Moncrief encouraged his audience to engage in acts of kindness and to utilize the G.R.I.T. method for personal and professional success — growth, resiliency, integrity and tenacity.
Craig Kesner, president of the chamber’s board of directors, presented outgoing chamber director Dean Lee and his wife, Reba, with special gifts in recognition of Lee’s service to the chamber. Lee is now the economic development director the city of Berryville.
Dinner for the banquet was prepared by The Horseshoe Grill and served by members of Berryville’s Junior Chamber. Music was provided by members of the Carroll County Community Orchestra. The event also featured live and silent auctions.
