BV council breezes through meeting

Posted

Long meetings aren’t a hallmark of the Berryville City Council, but last week’s regular meeting was especially brief.

Meeting at City Hall on Tuesday, March 21, the council concluded its business in approximately two minutes and 36 seconds.

Council member Linda Riddlesperger said preparations are well under way for the opening of the Saunders Museum on April 15.

“Cleaning is almost completed, and we’ve done some more pictures,” Riddlesperger said. “We took the gold plates out to Nighthawk (Custom) and got them photographed and they look really nice. And then we will be getting the power washing done on the outside to get that black off (of the limestone).”

In response to a question from Mayor Tim McKinney, Riddlesperger said the museum hasn’t yet gotten any interest from a segment that was included in Springfield television station KY3’s “The Place” episode on Berryville.

“… We don’t know yet,” Riddlesperger said. “Hopefully, it will. That was a good segment.”

With no old business or new business and no district reports, Riddlesperger moved to adjourn and the motion was approved unanimously.

The Berryville City Council’s next regular meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, at City Hall.
