   Bishop

Brenda Gail Bishop of Green Forest was born in Harrison on January 15, 1954, to Joy and Helen (McMorris) Compton. Brenda passed away August 18, 2024 in Green Forest at the age of 70.

As an avid sports fan, Brenda didn’t miss many Green Forest Tiger games over a span of at least five decades. She was there to watch her daughters cheer. She was there to watch her nieces and nephews games. She absolutely loved watching her grandchildren in all their athletic and school events. She loved the Green Forest Tigers, the Arkansas Razorbacks, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Indianapolis Colts.

Brenda operated her own daycare business in our town for 40 years. The immense impact that she had on the countless families in our community over that time is remarkable. She treated all those kids and their families like they were part of her family. That impact will be felt for generations to come.

If you were a friend of Kendra, Kristin, Keylen, Kassidy, Reiley or Presley, then Brenda and Von considered you part of their family. Brenda taught a lot of us how to live, laugh, and love. Brenda was always the life of the party. Her cooking was outstanding, her karaoke was unmatched, and her laughter was contagious.

January 29, 1971, Brenda was united in marriage to Von Bishop who survives her of the home. She is also survived by her daughters, Kendra Bell and Kristin Gordon and husband Lucas; grandchildren, Keylen Marshall and husband Hunter, Kassidy Bell, Reiley Gordon, Presley Gordon; great-granddaughter Lainey Bell Marshall; bonus grandchildren, Mattie Phillips, Devin Blythe, Ajay Strain; brother, David Compton and wife Janell; sister, Cheryl Hoppe; along with several nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends.

Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, Joy and Helen Compton; son-inlaw, Robert “Robbie” Bell; infant sister, Dana Michelle Compton.
