Bobcats win 3rd straight before loss to Prairie Grove

Posted

With as many as four sophomores in the starting lineup for most of the season, the Berryville Bobcats have had to endure some growing pains.

But the Bobcats seemed to find a groove over the past couple of weeks, winning three consecutive 4A-1 conference games.

Berryville picked up that third consecutive victory on Tuesday, Jan. 21, building a 15-point lead before holding off Pea Ridge down the stretch for a 50-42 road victory.

The Bobcats used a balanced offensive attack to get the victory over the Blackhawks. Sophomore CT Hicks scored seven points in the third quarter and led Berryville with 15 points. Classmate Hudson Norris added 10 points for the Bobcats, while senior Peyton Smith and sophomore John Butler added nine points apiece.

The victory followed wins over Green Forest and Gentry the previous week.

On Friday, the Bobcats stumbled a bit as Prairie Grove roared to a 46-18 halftime lead and went on to beat Berryville. Hicks and Smith each scored 10 points and sophomore Carson McMellon added eight for Berryville.
