The Berryville Bobcats picked up a pair of conference victories in boys soccer action last week, defeating Prairie Grove 4-1 on Tuesday, April 2, and Huntsville 2-0 on Thursday, April 4.
In the victory over Prairie Grove, Berryville outscored the Tigers 3-0 in the second half to break a 1-1 tie.
Devin Alvarez gave the Bobcats a 1-0 lead five minutes into the game, but Prairie Grove tied the score just before halftime. Alvarez scored again 10 minutes into the second half, however, to put Berryville ahead 2-1. Val Trujillo made it 3-1 with a goal near the 20-minute mark and Nestor Perez added a goal 10 minutes later to set the final margin.
The Bobcats improved to 3-1 in conference play with Thursday’s victory over Huntsville. Jobani Tapia scored the game’s first goal just before halftime and Alvarez extended the Bobcats’ lead to 2-0 with a second-half goal.
Berryville’s girls lost to Prairie Grove 1-0 on Tuesday, April 2, and to Shiloh Christian 10-2 on Thursday, April 4.
Berryville will host Clarksville on Thursday, April 11, at Bobcat Stadium before traveling to Green Forest on Monday, April 15. The Green Forest game originally was scheduled to be played earlier this season in Berryville but was postponed because of inclement weather.
