The Berryville Bobcats wrapped up spring football practice with a spring game Thursday, May 23, at Bobcat Stadium.
Berryville coach Macklin Chermak, who was hired just before spring practice in 2023 and will begin his second season with the Bobcats this fall, said he can see the improvement in his team.
“It’s been, in comparison to when I first got here last year — which was such a tough situation in the spring — a night and day difference. I think we’re way ahead of where we were last year.”
Depth remains an issue for the Bobcats, Chermak said, and rainy weather also was an obstacle during spring drills. But there was no lack of effort for the Bobcats.
“I think everyone has done a great job, improving their position. I think all the kids have come a long ways,” Chermak said. “Each player has definitely gotten better, gotten stronger. The kids are working hard. Huge improvements across the board. So we’re excited. We’ve got a long, long, long way to go.”
