Posted

The Berryville Bobcats lost three baseball games last week, but not without a fight.

The Bobcats lost at Gravette by a score of 6-5 on Tuesday, April 11, then were beaten 17-5 on Elkins on Thursday, April 13.

Berryville was back home on Friday, losing to Pea Ridge 9-5.

Against Gravette, the Bobcats scored three runs in the top of the first inning and were up 5-0 after scoring twice in the top of the fifth inning.

The Lions tied things up with five runs in the bottom of the inning, however, then pushed across the winning run on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh.

Berryville pitchers Brady Smith and Ashton Block struck out a combined total of 10 Gravette batters and Smith scored two runs to lead the Berryville offense.

Elkins broke open Thursday’s game with 12 runs in the bottom of the third. Aspen Linz had two of Berryville’s six hits, while Titus Gregory drove in two runs for the Bobcats.

Against Pea Ridge, Berryville trailed 9-0 before scoring one run in the bottom of the sixth inning and four in the bottom of the seventh.

Gregory had three hits and drove in four runs for the Bobcats, including a three-run double in the seventh.

Berryville will play at Prairie Grove on Tuesday before finishing the regular season at home Thursday against Greenland.
