As he prepares to begin his third season as Berryville’s head football coach, Macklin Chermak said the Bobcats are ahead of where they were entering the past two seasons.
Berryville will kick off the 2025 on the road on Friday, Sept. 5, taking on Mountain View.
“We’re excited about out first game,” Chermak said. “We’re further along than we have been the last two years at this time, so we’re excited.”
Mountain View, which beat Berryville 24-7 last season, started its season with a 36-21 loss on Friday, Aug. 29.
“We’re a little nervous about them already playing a game and getting a lot of penalties last week and getting those out of the way,” Chermak said. “We are worried about us playing our first game and them playing their second.”
Chermak said the Yellowjackets have made some changes to their offensive approach.
“So we’re having to kind of adjust our game plan a little bit,” he said. “They came here last year and took it to us. So we’ve got to make sure we go over there and take care of business.”
