Berryville head football coach Macklin Chermak says the Bobcats are a little behind schedule in preseason practice, simply because they got a late start.
Chermak was hired in May as the Bobcats’ new coach after the unexpected resignation of former coach Bryan Hutson, who retired from coaching to accept a teaching position in the Hot Springs Lakeside School District.
“We got here so late, we’re still developing the team as a whole, offensively and defensively,” Chermak said Monday. “We just started special teams. Everything is just kind of progressing slowly.”
Berryville will open the season on Sept. 1, hosting West Fork at Bobcat Stadium.
