Based simply on the final score, the Berryville Bobcats’ 7-2 loss to Bentonville on Tuesday, March 7, might seem like a blowout.
But Berryville coach Grant Hutson said the Bobcats didn’t play poorly after they shook off a slow start against a Class 6A opponent.
“We started the game very, very flat,” Hutson said. “I think we started maybe a little bit intimidated. And then once the guys started to realize that they could play with them, the second half was much, much better.”
After trailing 5-0 at halftime, Berryville matched Bentonville 2-2 in the second half with Jesus Monroy accounting for both of the Bobcats’ goals.
Berryville hosted Green Forest on Monday. The Bobcats will play on the road Tuesday night against Bentonville West.
