Bobcat Drama to present ‘Pride and Prejudice’

Berryville High School to present ‘Pride and Prejudice’ April 9–12 Berryville High School’s Bobcat Drama program is preparing to bring a fresh take on a literary classic to the stage with its spring production of Pride and Prejudice.

The play, adapted by Kate Hamill from the novel by Jane Austen, will be performed April 9–12 at the Berryville High School Performing Arts Center.

Hamill’s adaptation remains faithful to the original storyline while introducing a faster pace and a more modern sense of humor, offering audiences a lively interpretation of the well-known tale.

Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, April 9–11, with a matinee at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 12.

Admission is $7 for students and senior citizens and $8 for adults. Advance tickets are available online.

The production features a large student cast, led by Paige Thurman as Lizzy Bennet and A.C. Calvillo as Mr. Darcy. Aubrey Lee plays Jane Bennet, while Ayanna Sincero takes on the role of Lydia. Other principal cast members include Auna Herrera as Mrs. Bennet, Andrew Griesenauer as Mr. Bennet, Karson Casey as Bingley and Reece Williams as Wickham.

Supporting roles include Molly Staats as Charlotte, Keily Diaz as Miss Bingley and Lady Catherine De-Bourgh, Keegan Morgan as Mr. Collins and Valentina Sanchez- Fuentes as Miss Anne DeBourgh.

A number of students will also appear as members of the ensemble and assist with various aspects of the production, including stage management, set construction, lighting and sound, costumes and box office operations.

Sage Tresler serves as stage manager, while Andrew Griesenauer is the technical director.
