Billy Joe Goodson of Berryville, Arkansas was born on March 23,1943, in Wichita, Kansas to Joe and Grace (Coleman) Goodson. Bill departed this life on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at his home surrounded by loved ones, at the age of 81.

Bill retired in 2000 as an Equipment Manager from the California Department of Transportation after a dedicated career and moved to Arkansas to be close to family. His commitment to his work mirrored his passion for animals and community service. He was an active member of 4-H, serving as both a club and project leader, where he guided and inspired young minds. Bill also mentored youth through the Future Farmers of America, sharing his extensive knowledge and fostering a love for agriculture in the next generation.

Bill’s interests were varied and deeply rooted in his love for life. He was an avid gardener, finding peace and joy in cultivating his garden. Additionally, Bill was an automotive enthusiast, spending countless hours restoring classic cars and attending car shows.

Those who knew Bill will remember him for his sharp wit, infectious humor, and the wisdom he imparted with generosity and kindness. He had an uncanny ability to make everyone around him smile and feel at ease.

His legacy of laughter, wisdom, and dedication to his passions and family will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Eileen Louise Goodson; daughter, JoAnn Foulk of Berryville, Arkansas; grandchildren, Daniel Goodson and wife Sara Goodson of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, Hannah Kublanov and husband Mike Kublanov of McKinney, Texas, William Foulk of Berryville, Arkansas, and Kami Tresler and husband Chase Tresler of Berryville, Arkansas; six great-grandchildren, Isaac and Cooper Goodson, Max Kublanov, Dakoda, Sage and Jax Tresler; sister, Cheryl Brown and husband David Brown of Rogers, Arkansas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Grace Goodson; son, David Goodson; and son-in-law, Stuart Foulk.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
