BHS girls lose two on road

The Berryville Lady Bobcats closed out the 2023-24 regular season with a pair of road losses in conference play, losing to Gravette 71-49 on Tuesday, Feb. 6, before falling to Shiloh Christian 44-37 on Friday, Feb. 9, in Springdale.

In the loss to Gravette, the Lady Bobcats fell behind 26-9 by the end of the first quarter and couldn’t catch up.

Sophomore Kaylyn Smith made four three-pointers and scored 19 points to lead Berryville, while junior Taelor Tomlinson had three three-point baskets and scored 11 points.

The third quarter made the difference in the Feb. 9 loss to Shiloh Christian. The Lady Saints outscored Berryville 15-7 in the third quarter after the Lady Bobcats led by one at halftime.

Smith led Berryville with 13 points, while sophomores Paige Thurman and Hailey Howerton added eight points each.

Berryville will get another crack at Shiloh Christian in the opening round of the district tournament at 6:40 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Gravette.
