A fourth-quarter rally by the Berryville Lady Bobcats came up short as Shiloh Christian held on for a 4741 victory in the first round of the 4A-1 girls district tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 13, at Gravette.
Trailing 38-24 after three quarters, Berryville outscored Shiloh Christian 17-9 over the final eight minutes. The Lady Bobcats made three three-pointers in the fourth quarter — two from sophomore Tessa Johnson and one from junior Kynadee Hopper.
Sophomore Kaylyn Smith led Berryville with 11 points, while sophomore Hailey Howerton added 10. Howerton made two three-pointers and scored eight points in the first half.
Berryville, which did not have a senior and had just three juniors, finished the season 10-19 overall.
