BHS boys golfers win 2 tournaments

Berryville’s high school golf team has been on a roll recently, winning the boys division in two of its past three tournaments.

On Aug. 16, Berryville’s boys won a five-team tournament hosted by Shiloh Christian at The Creeks in Elm Springs. Berryville senior Nate Allen took medalist honors by shooting 39 over nine holes. He was followed by teammates Titus Gregory at 47, Jack Dignan at 50 and Ashton Blok at 55. The Bobcats’ team score of 136 was seven strokes better than Shiloh Christian. Pea Ridge, Prairie Grove and Gravette also competed.

On the girls side, Berryville finished tied for fourth at 188. Emma Hall led the Lady Bobcats, shooting a 58. She was followed by Sadie Sharp at 64, Jaiden Hood at 66 and Carly Ward at 68.

On Aug. 25, Berryville’s boys took first place among five teams competing at The Highlands in Bella Vista. Allen took medalist honors again, shooting 41 over nine holes. Titus was two strokes behind at 43, followed by Jake Wilson at 47, Blok at 48 and Dignan at 51. The Bobcats’ 131 team score topped Shiloh Christian by 11 strokes.

On the girls side, Berryville took third place. Ava O’Gorek led the Lady Bobcats, carding a 50. She was followed by Sharp at 53, Hood at 58 and Hall at 62.

On Aug. 30, Berryville competed on its home course at the Carroll County Country Club. On the boys side, Berryville shot 134 and finished second to Shiloh Christian’s 125. Allen led the Bobcats at 39, followed by Blok at 46. Wilson and Dignan each shot 49.

Berryville’s girls shot 187. Hall’s 60 led the Lady Bobcats, with Hood shooting 63, Sharp and Aubrey Beck each at 64, Ward at 66 and Aubrey Lee at 72.

Berryville will be back at the Highlands for an 18-hole tournament Tuesday, Sept. 6.
