Berryville Walmart to host Lucky Cupcake contest at Saturday’s library festival

Posted

Berryville Walmart will host a Lucky Cupcake Contest at the Friends of the Berryville Library’s Peace, Love, and a New Library Fundraising Festival. The festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, July 8, at the Berryville City Pool Park. Berryville Walmart is the presenting sponsor. Tickets are on sale at the Berryville Library or can be purchased at the event.

The Lucky Cupcake Contest will feature 50 large cupcakes baked at the Berryville Walmart and available for sale for $5. Buyers will need to bite into their cupcakes immediately upon purchase. If the cupcake is filled, they have found one of the Lucky Cupcakes and will receive a $25 Walmart gift card. There is no limit to the number of cupcakes that can be purchased, and all proceeds will benefit the Friends’ fundraising efforts for the new library.

In addition to the Lucky Cupcake Contest, the festival will feature live music, carnival games, a silent auction and a sack lunch that includes a famous Luther Burger, chips, drink, and a mini cupcake.

Held in honor of the International Day of Peace and Love, the festival will include a cupcake toast to the universe, a custom started by Ringo Starr, at noon.

Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for those ages 3-17, and provide entrance to the festival, three carnival game tickets and a sack lunch.

This is a family friendly event with fun for all ages. Bring a lawn chair and some extra money to purchase additional game tickets or special swag and enjoy the festival while helping raise money for a new Berryville Library.

Should the weather not cooperate on the day of the event, tune in to KTHS 107.1 for an announcement of the inclement weather location.
