We have a lot of positives to share this month in the Bobcat Buzz!
The high school has released their first semester honor roll and attendance numbers recently. There were 142 students on the Honor Roll with a 3.0 to 3.49 grade point average. High Honors includes 125 high school scholars with a 3.5 to 3.9 grade point average and 75 students made the Distinguished Honor Roll list with a 4.0 or above.
The high school also had 35 students with perfect attendance the entire first semester! In addition, Talan Hill and Dakota Tressler recently received recognition for being selected as Elks’ Students of the Quarter. Congratulations to all of these high school Bobcats!
Join us in celebrating Catherine Paz for being the first female BHS wrestler to qualify for the state tournament. Miss Paz finished third in the regional tournament this past weekend and that lands her a spot in state competition. Way to go Catherine!
February is National Children’s Dental Health Month and Dr. Geoff West visited Berryville Elementary and Berryville Intermediate to speak to students about the importance of creating healthy dental habits. Berryville Schools appreciates Dr. West for investing in our kids and teaching them about dental health.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete our recent survey concerning the start date of the 2024-25 school year. The results showed that 71.3 percent of stakeholders (parents, grandparents, students, community members, and Bobcat staff) prefer moving the start date to Aug. 12. We also appreciate the comments and feedback regarding the school calendar in general.
UPCOMING REMINDERS AND EVENTS
Kiwanis Trivia Night is coming up at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27. The event will be held in the middle school cafeteria. Trivia night supports senior scholarships. This is a great opportunity to have some fun and support our students at the same time.
Families, please remember that all bus riders must have a note from the office to ride a different bus at any time. If your student is riding any bus other than their typical route, the school office will need a note from a parent/guardian before they can issue a bus pass. This is a safety issue and we want to ensure all bus riders are accounted for at all times.
The basketball Bobcats and Lady Bobcats will begin district tournament play this week. Good luck to the players and coaches! Go Bobcats!
