Berryville shooters shine at regionals

This past weekend the Berryville Shooting Sports teams competed in the Arkansas Youth Shooting Sports West Regional Tournament in Jacksonville.

Juniors competed on Friday followed by Seniors on Saturday. Berryville’s junior team 1, Mators and Tators, won regionals coming in first out of 79 teams. Berryville’s junior team 2, Fuzzy Monkeys, placed ninth and both teams earned a spot on the bracket at the state tournament in June.

Berryville’s senior team 1, Dust Bunnies, came in second out of 121 teams and will be going back in June to compete at state as well.

Berryville’s Jaret Standlee finished as the top shooter among the West Region juniors, taking first place out of 355 shooters. Berryville also had three other junior shooters finish in the top 25: Mason Zogleman, Andy Andreski and Colter Goforth.

Berryville’s seniors had three shooters finish in the top 25 out of 564 shooters: Tre Henley, Ben Heintz and Jesse McCreary.

This year shooters from Green Forest joined the Berryville shooting team after their program dissolved.
