Berryville runners in action

The Berryville High School and junior high cross country teams competed in the Gravette Invitational meet on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Northwest Arkansas Community College in Rogers.

Berryville’s Bella Knapp took 17th place in the high school girls race with a time of 23:13.00. She was followed by Astralia Amos (19th, 23:22.80), Carly Smith (25th, 24:04.30), Maranatha Ross (50th, 27:49.90) and Sophee Bartos (67th, 31:14.50).

On the boys side, the Bobcats’ Malachi Houghton was 35th (18:34.30). Other Bobcats competing were Oliver Bemis (42nd, 19:16.20), Noah Houghton (46th, 19:31.00), Gabriel Wall (68th, 21:44.70), Aden Burnett (76th, 22:26.00), Gavin Simpkins (85th, 23:23.90) and Nathan Ross (93rd, 26:07.30).

Berryville’s Kai Killingsworth finished second in the two-mile run for junior high girls, with a time of 12:45.30. Teammate Mikayla Killingsworth was sixth in 13:29.40. Jachin Houghton took 26th in the junior high boys race with a time of 12:48.00.

Berryville will host the district championships on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
