A Berryville man was arrested Thursday, Feb. 5, after a student walking home from school was struck by a vehicle near Eureka Avenue.
Berryville police chief Robert Bartos said the female student was crossing the street when she was hit. The student was transported to the hospital.
Bartos said the driver of the vehicle “stopped for a few seconds but then he took off.” Bartos said Berryville police later arrested the driver, Peter James Ford.
Ford, 47, was booked into the Carroll County Detention Center on charges of leaving the scene of an accident with injury. He was released on a $5,000 bond on Friday, Feb. 6.
