Opening of new Berryville Library delayed

Posted

The Friends of the Berryville Library have announced that the new Berryville Library will not be opening in June as planned because of a delay in manufacturing of shelves.

“This is a great disappointment but is something well beyond our control,” library director Julie Hall said in a news release. “We know we cannot open the new library without shelves for the collection, so we have no choice but to wait until they are ready. This building has been years in the making, and we are sure it will be worth the wait!”

The Friends anticipate opening the new building later this summer, the news release said, but a grand opening date will not be set until a confirmed shipping date for the shelving is confirmed. The Berryville Library will remain open at its current location, 104 Spring St.
