Berryville hosts Candy Crawl

Posted

The City of Berryville is hosting a Town-Wide Candy Crawl and Passport Game, providing families with safe and fun locations to trick-ortreat throughout the community.

Julia Borkowski, the city’s community engagement director, introduced the Candy Crawl Passport Game last year as a way to encourage families to visit participating businesses and community locations while collecting stamps to earn prizes. What began with just six participating passport stops has grown to more than 30 locations this year, showing how much the community has embraced this new Halloween tradition.

The Candy Crawl and Passport Game are both free to play. Participants can print their passport ahead of time from the City of Berryville Facebook page or pick one up at any participating location. After collecting stamps from six different stops, completed passports can be redeemed for prizes at the Carroll County Farmers Market tent on the Square, the Carroll County Fairgrounds, or at The Borkowskis’, 413 S. Springfield St., by 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31.

This year’s prizes are sponsored by Pizza Hut of Berryville, Berryville Film Fest and Triple 3 Farm LLC.

“When I started this, I wanted to create a safe environment for families of all ages to enjoy trick-or-treating while also supporting our local businesses,” said Borkowski. “It’s been incredible to watch it grow, and I hope this becomes a lasting Halloween tradition in Berryville.”

Families can find a list of all participating locations and a Google Map on the City of Berryville Facebook page, which includes trick-ortreat times, age groups served and business details.
