Berryville Police Chief Robert Bartos told the city council at its regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 16, that his department issued 101 citations in August 2025, up from 89 in the same month in 2024.
The number of offenses reported dropped sharply in August 2025, however. Bartos said there were 40 offenses reported for the month, down from 70 in August 2024.
The department had a 90 percent clearance rate, Bartos said, and took in $1,700 in fines and bonds.
Thirteen traffic accidents were reported, down from 15 the previous year, Bartos said.
The Berryville City Council’s next regular meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, at City Hall.
