In 1956, Edens was hired as the first junior high coach at Berryville. He became the high school basketball coach during the 1960-61 season and his 1961-62 team went 30-5 and lost by one point in the state semifinals. Edens coached the Berryville cross country team to six state championships.

Tom Ginn was a three-sport athlete, playing football and basketball and running track. After graduating from BHS in 1976, he played football at the University of Arkansas and was selected in the fifth round of the NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. He played center for the Lions and in 1980 was named to the Pro Football Writers Association All-Rookie Team. He played two seasons in the NFL before his career was shortened by injuries.
