Abendschone Chapter of the Daughters of the American Republic will commemorate Constitution Day, Wednesday, Sept. 17, by participating in the DAR annual Bells Across America. At precisely 3 p.m. Central Time – the time the Constitution was signed, chapter members will ring the restored fire bell in Basin Park in Eureka Springs.
Members of the chapter will be in the park from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. with copies of the Constitution and information on membership in the DAR. Proclamations from Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Eureka Springs Mayor Butch Berry will be read just before the bell ringing. For more information, contact Abendschone Chapter regent Sharon Lawlor at 479-363-6138.
