A BBQ Rib Cook-off will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, as part of a Patriot Day celebration at The Barn, 120 Shields Drive in Holiday Island.
The competition is open to the public. To register or for more information, visit www.ribcookoff. com There will be 10 cash prizes, including $1,000 for first place and $500 for second place.
The event will include food trucks, 25-plus vendors, inflatables for the kids, face-painting and a live band. The event will be held in conjunction with a car show in which trophies will be awarded, and the American Legion Presentation of Colors at 3 p.m. For more information, call (479)-244-9594
