District Mission: Ensuring high levels of learning for everyone, every day!
Hello Bobcat Nation!
Spring is on the horizon and with it comes a lot of activities and events in the district.
One very important item to have on your calendars is the state ATLAS assessment. Each school has shared their testing dates on their social media outlets and more information will be coming as the time gets nearer.
Families, please prioritize attendance during testing days. Students always perform better when they are well rested, eat a good breakfast, and take the assessment at the same time as their classmates. Questions about the test? Contact your child’s teacher or the building principal for information and additional tips.
Berryville Intermediate School is celebrating fourth-grade student Benjamin Cleaver for qualifying and competing in the State Spelling Bee in Little Rock last week. We are proud of you, Benjamin!
Speaking of fourth grade, the fourth-grade Odyssey of the Mind team not only won second place in their division, but they also earned the second-best score in the Spontaneous part of the competition out of 16 teams. They are headed to state competition on April 5.
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) week is coming up March 15-23. This is a time to celebrate STEM careers and for students to learn more about those particular pathways.
If your child attends Bobcat Academy they are being exposed to STEM through the use of drones and robotic activities. Other ways your student may be exposed to STEM are through robotics, aviation courses, and computer science classes. Contact individual schools for more information about STEM opportunities.
Congratulations to the basketball Lady Bobcats for a tremendous season that propelled them to the state tournament this year. We are very proud of the team and coaches for a great run!
We are also home to three All-State wrestlers —Ocean Mullins (third place), TJ Wolfe (fourth place), and Catherine Paz (fourth place). Congratulations!
REMINDERS
Parent conferences are Thursday, March 20. Make plans to attend conferences this semester and check your child’s learning progress.
Ask the questions, “Is my student learning? How do you know?” Our teachers can provide a wealth of information about student growth and progress.
There will be NO school for students on Friday, March 21. This is a professional learning day for staff.
Spring break is scheduled for March 24-March 28 this year.
If your student(s) is a bus rider, please remind them to have their cards ready to scan on and off the bus. This is our way of ensuring your child is on the correct bus, safe, and accounted for during each trip.
Thank you for continuing to support the Berryville School District. We appreciate our stakeholders and we value a strong community partnership that enables us to provide a quality education to all students.
Enjoy the weather this week!
