Students from Berryville High School attended the Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association Region Six honor band auditions on Thursday, Jan. 18, at Rogers High School.
Several hundred students from the Northwest Arkansas area including those from Harrison and Mountain Home auditioned for a place in one of two honor bands.
Berryville had two students selected to the honor band. Senior Rose Smith was awarded 2nd band, eighth chair for clarinet, while sophomore Garrett Tibbets earned 2nd band, 2nd chair playing his bass trombone.
Smith and Tibbets participated in the honor band clinic and concert hosted at Bentonville West on Jan, 19-20. Their clinician was the director of bands at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith, Dr. Alexandra Zacharella.
“We are very proud of these outstanding musicians and the way they represent our school and our community” said Berryville band director Doug Blevins.
