Two people were killed Friday, April 18, when their vehicle collided with a school bus on U.S. Highway 62 in Eureka Springs.

According to an Arkansas State Police crash summary, Deborah Clark, 74, of Divide, Colo., was driving a 2013 Ford Escape eastbound at 11:25 a.m. when the vehicle crossed into the westbound lane and struck the front of a 2022 school bus.

Deborah Clark and a passenger in her vehicle, 77-year-old Richard Clark of Divide, Colo., were pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were listed on the crash summary.

The accident occurred west of the Bavarian Inn, which is located at 325 W. Van Buren in Eureka Springs. Traffic was rerouted while emergency responders worked to clear the scene.

While the ASP report did not provide any details on the school bus, the Scranton School District said in a Facebook post that one of its buses was involved in an accident while on a field trip.

Scranton is located in Logan County, approximately 105 miles from Eureka Springs.
