Library to present free concert on May 16 in Pioneer Park
The Berryville Library is partnering with the University of Arkansas Student Chamber Music Tour and the Berryville Community Center to present a free concert in Pioneer Park at 1 p.m. Monday, May 16.
The performance will last approximately one hour and feature the sounds of three student ensembles. This tour is the first of its kind and is designed to allow the students to perform at the highest caliber in a variety of community venues.
Pioneer Park is located behind the Berryville Library. For those who would like to picnic outdoors while enjoying the concert, Outer Limits Food Truck will be set up from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.selling a variety of chicken or steak wraps. In case of rain, the concert will be moved to the Berryville Community Center Auditorium.
The groups performing are: the Hawksbill Winds, a student-based woodwind quintet at the University of Arkansas that includes Derrick Rassinier of Eureka Springs playing the French horn; the Loblolly Brass Quintet, a student organized ensemble at the University of Arkansas; and the Castalia Saxophone Quartet, which consists of two graduate students originally from Oklahoma and two undergraduate students from Arkansas.
