LeRoy Crapps of Berryville, Arkansas departed this life on April 22, 2022, bound for his heavenly home. LeRoy was born in Eudora, Arkansas on September 28, 1929, and passed away in the comfort of his home with his loving wife of 64 years, Freddie Crapps, at his side. The two were married on September 6, 1957, in Harrison.
LeRoy is the son of Inez and Floyd Crapps who preceded him in death along with his Aunt Ruth and Uncle Donald King. He is survived by wife, Freddie Crapps, and his two daughters, Lori Crapps of Berryville, and Debi Posey and husband Billy “Pug” Posey of Brandon, MS. Grandchildren, Chris (Kayla) Posey of Madison, MS and Stephanie (Scott) Wilson of Valier, MT, four great grandchildren Breland (Kaitlyn) Posey, Kelsey, Grant, and Gunner Wilson. Two great, great grandchildren, Sage and Brighton Posey. Other survivors include his sister-in-law, Jody McAnally of Rogers, AR and a host of nieces and nephews.
Those who knew LeRoy knew he was a hard worker. He loved serving the Lord, taking an active role in his church. He was passionate about sharing the Roman Road Plan of Salvation and especially enjoyed serving with the Baptist Building Ministry. His life motto was “Do for Others”, many times in front of his own needs. He loved the outdoors and built hundreds of miles of fence for many people throughout the entire county. LeRoy was no stranger to this community.
When LeRoy had down time, he enjoyed betting a $5 bill with his son-in-law and always rooted for Tom Brady’s team. He also enjoyed watching The Price is Right on television. LeRoy was known for his strong handshakes and overalls. He was affectionately called Granddaddy Arkansas by his grand and great grandchildren who live in other states, but being called ‘Daddy’ by his daughters, made his heart complete. LeRoy was a loyal husband, father, and grandfather and was loved by many.
A Memorial Service for LeRoy Crapps will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Freeman Heights Baptist Church in Berryville with Rev. Alan Brown officiating.
