Victories haven’t come easily for the Green Forest Lady Tigers this season — although the future looks bright with a standout junior high team waiting in the wings.

But the time was now for Green Forest on Tuesday, Jan. 4, as the Lady Tigers won at Lincoln, 39-26. It was the first conference win of the season for Green Forest.

“Our defense was the best we’ve played this year,” Green Forest coach Ben West said. “Our kids played hard in every facet of the game.”

Virginia Gonzales led the Lady Tigers with 16 points, including 10 in the second half, and Lyndsey Snow added nine. The Lady Tigers led 19-13 at halftime and closed out the win by outscoring Lincoln 13-4 in the fourth quarter.

On Friday, Bergman defeated Green Forest 70-29 at the Grim Gym. The Lady Panthers made 11 three-pointers. Leah Evans led Green Forest (4-12, 1-3 3A-1) with 11 points.
