Both the Berryville Bobcats and the Green Forest Tigers are well-represented on the 4A-1 all-conference football team.

First-team all conference selections include Berryville two-way lineman Damian Helmlinger and running back Jaeden Tanksley as well as Green Forest outside linebacker and punter Fredy Juarez Jr., offensive lineman Dalton Randolph and linebacker Bryan Soto.

Named to the second team were Berryville offensive linemen Kole Coatney, Ross Nance and William Redd and linebacker Chet Hudgens and Green Forest defensive backs Ben Jones and Navor Perez and defensive linemen Jazmany Lopez and Rodolfo Mendoza.

Soto received honorable-mention all-state recognition.

Tanksley rushed for more than 1,100 yards as a senior for Berryville.

“He hurt his hamstring early in the year,” Berryville coach Bryan Hutson said. “There were a couple of games where he had to come out because his hamstring was sore and pulling on him a little bit. If that hadn’t happened, there’s no telling what he could have done. But he still had a pretty good year. He stayed relatively healthy and he was excited about that because the previous two years he had been injured.”

Soto, likewise, overcame a knee injury that ended his sophomore season to become a fixture at linebacker for Green Forest.

“He was just an animal for us,” Tigers coach Greg Tibbitt said. “He really led us in everything he did.”
