Lannis Dale Gunnels
Lannis Dale Gunnels of Eureka Springs, Arkansas was born November 18, 1929, in Busch, Arkansas to Henry Everett and Iva (Hency) Gunnels. Lannis went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 4, 2021, in Berryville, Arkansas at the age of 91.
Lannis was a hard-working man who loved his family beyond measure. He was a gentle man with a firm hand. Lannis was a Christian and believer in Jesus Christ. He was a bus driver for 21 years at Eureka Springs High School. He also drove a bus for Gray Line Tours.
Lannis is survived by his daughter Barbara Geneson and husband David of Eureka Springs, AR; son Joe Gunnels and wife Laurie of Blue Eye, Missouri; five step-sons Floyd Clark, Robert Clark, Bennie Clark, David Clark, and James Clark; two sisters-in-laws Dorothy Gunnels and Mildred Clark; seven grandchildren Eric Spencer, Bobby Stoppel, Kristen Stoppel, Daron Brashear, Crystal (Gunnels) Arimura, Jennifer Gunnels, Jessica Jackson, Jordan Parsons, and Rebekah Houle; seventeen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Henry Everett and Iva Gunnels; first wife Edna Clark Gunnels; second wife Ana Lee Clark Gunnels; brothers Lonnie, Henry, Seth Ora and George; two sisters Cleva Rochester and Oleeta Jones.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Nelsonís Chapel of the Springs. Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 11, 2021, at the Eureka Springs Cemetery with Reverend Marvin Peterson officiating. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Childrenís Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
