GF's Rangel shines in Shiloh Saints Invitational

Green Forest senior Paco Rangel finished seventh in the Class 1A-4A boys 5,000-meter race at the Shiloh Saints Invitational cross country meet on Saturday, Sept. 4, in Springdale.

Rangel finished in a time of 18:44.61.

He was followed by teammates Chris Alvarado, 33rd in 21:20.71; Pablo Moreno, 38th, 21:25.92; Matthew Vasquez, 50th, 22:30.69; Kevin Cifuentes, 65th, 23:21.71; and Jacob Vasquez, 74th, 24:21.75.

Eureka Springs’ Jayden Urioste finished 21st in a time of 20:36.88.

Berryville’s Cole Price was 36th in 21:23.47. Other Berryville runners were Robby Bartos, 58th, 23:03.93; Chris Nequiz, 75th, 24:24.61; and Nathan Ross, 86th, 27:44.30.

Green Forest finished eighth in the boys’ team standings. A total of 91 runners competed in the boys race.

On the girls’ side, Green Forest’s Marianna Beltran finished 32nd in 28:04.09. The Lady Tigers’ Haddasah Reyes was 56th, 32:30.51; and Debora Reyes was 58th, 33:04.87.

Berryville’s Lucy Reyes was 34th, 28:14.13, and Alison Nequiz was 41st, 29:54.48.

Eureka Springs’ Vivian Thomas finished 52nd in 31:31.87.

There were 59 runners in the girls race.
