BHS golf teams win at home
For the second time this season, Berryville’s boys and girls golf teams won on their home course.
On Thursday, Aug. 26, Berryville’s boys and girls both took first place against several other teams at the Carroll County Country Club.
Berryville’s boys finished at 122, led by junior Nate Allen, who shot a 38 on the nine-hole course to earn medalist honors. Ashton Blok and DJ Colbert each shot 42 and Jack Dignan was at 45. Eureka Springs finished at 162 as senior Kegley Ertel led the Highlanders with a score of 49. He was followed by Matthew Lester at 53, Eason Nystrom at 60 and Michael Lester at 65. Jackson Clark, who plays for the Eureka Springs boys junior varsity, shot 65. Green Forest’s Austin Howerton shot 44 and teammate Alex Kilbourne was four shots back at 48.
On the girls side, Berryville’s Ava O’Gorek took medalist honors at 48 to lead the Lady Bobcats to a 159 total. Emma Hall shot 53 for Berryville, followed by Jaden Hood at 58 and Alyssa Lee at 69. Eureka Springs finished second at 178. Junior Katie Farrar shot 54, followed by Ana Crider at 59 and Aspen Pena at 66. Green Forest’s Lyndsey Snow shot a 60, with teammate Leah Evans two shots back at 62.
