Judith Ann Usrey Darby
Judith Ann (Judy) Usrey Darby, a long-time resident of Green Forest, Arkansas passed away early Monday morning, May 31, 2021, at the Willard Walker Hospice House in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 65. She was born in San Jose, California on July 21, 1955, the daughter of Rex B. and Reta Helen (Trigg) Usrey.
On December 28, 1973, she was united in marriage to Terry Darby. They were married for 48 years. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and mentor to many who loved her. She constantly put everyone else’s needs above her own and she worked hard to make sure everyone was always happy around her. She truly was an avid Green Forest Tiger Fan!
Enough cannot be said about “Aunt Judy,” as she was known by everyone. She touched thousands of lives over her 34 years at Green Forest Schools and was loved by so many. She had a big heart for all children, whether they were her own, her nieces or nephews, or the thousands of school kids she helped over the decades, including making sure they were able to eat lunch regardless of their ability to pay.
She graduated from Green Forest High School in May of 1973. Soon after high school she started working at Tyson Foods until July of 1987. In August of 1987 she started working at Green Forest Schools where she worked until her death. She attended First Assembly of God Church in Green Forest for many years.
She is survived by her husband Terry, her son Ross Darby, her daughter Morgan Gonzalez and husband Fernando and two grandchildren, Anthony Gonzalez and Virginia Gonzalez all of Green Forest; her brother Randy and wife Jo of Omaha; sister-in-law Gail Stockton and husband Jim of Harrison; sister-in-law Carla Kienast and husband Jack of Dallas, Texas; and brother-in-law Jerry Flowers of Alma; uncle Bob Trigg and aunt Bernice; aunt Pauline Trigg and several nieces and nephews that she loved as her own.
She is preceded in death by her parents, R.B. and Reta Usrey.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 4th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Grim Gym in Green Forest. Her Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, June 5th at 11:00 am. at Grim Gym in Green Forest with Pastor Mark Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at Farewell Cemetery.
