Bright Futures honors buisness, volunteer

The Bright Futures Berryville 2020 Business Partner of the Year award was recently presented to Arvest Bank of Berryville. The award was accepted by Michelle Froman, Jodi Hopper and Courtney Keith.Present for the ceremony were (from left) BFB board members Misty Gregory, Anna Summers, Jamie Casey, Hopper, Froman, Keith, BFB coordinator Mindy Hicks, Berryville School District superintendent Owen Powell, and advisory board members Gina Gregson, Donnel Armstrong and Brenda Norris. According to Hicks, Arvest Bank is a strong supporter of Bright Futures Berryville, supporting the group’s monthly #My42 days, volunteering at events and collecting donations for its annual drives, in addition to allowing employees to translate for students and families at school and Bright Futures events.

The Bright Futures Berryville 2020 Volunteer of the Year was recently presented to Gina Gregson in memory of her late husband, John Ed Gregson. According to BFB coordinator Mindy Hicks, John Ed Gregson was a ‘champion who loved and served his community,’ volunteering with many organizations throughout the county even as he served as president of Arvest Bank in Carroll County. Attending the ceremony were (from left) BFB advisory board member and Berryville High School principal Donnel Armstrong, Berryville School District superintendent Owen Powell, Hicks, Gina Gregson, and BFB advisory board members Anna Summers, Jamie Casey, Brenda Norris and Misty Gregory. Upon accepting the award, Gina said, ‘John believed that it is everyone’s responsibility, if at all possible, to serve and help your community whenever you can. Because if you love something, you take care of it. … You do whatever you can to support and help the community and the people in it.’
