Tommy Wayne DeWeese
Tommy Wayne DeWeese of Berryville, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, May 11th, 2021, at the age of 77 years old. After a long and hard-fought battle with health issues, he died at Washington Regional Hospital with his beloved wife and family by his side.
Tommy was born on May 29th, 1943, in Berryville, AR to Waymon and Artie (Wilson) DeWeese. As a boy, he grew up on a farm in Rudd, AR where he spent his time roping cattle for fun. He graduated from Green Forest high school.
He was united in marriage to Kathy (Wojcik) DeWeese on April 19th, 1963. They had a loving marriage of 58 years and were blessed with six children and eleven grandchildren.
In 1974 Tommy started his business, Tommy's Poultry Service, which he owned until selling in 2010.
Tommy enjoyed the simple things in life. He was an avid fisherman and loved the outdoors, as well as watching rodeos and bull riding on television. Though a man of few words, he spent ample time with his family and long list of friends. He was a member of the Breakfast Club at the Ozark Café.
As a recipient of a heart transplant that extended his life by 9 years, and one who persisted without so much as a complaint through various health challenges, he is an example of strength and courage to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He was a kind, generous, and resilient man who will be dearly loved and missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one son Tommy Wayne DeWeese Jr.
Tommy is survived by his wife Kathy; children, Amanda Horton (husband Greg), Judith (Jude) Reid (husband Adam), Melody Kennett (husband Vic), Angela Meeks (husband Matt), and Timothy DeWeese (wife Crystal); grandchildren, Joey Darby (wife Janea), Houston Horton, Sophie and Luke Reid, Nikolas (wife Allie), Cassidy and Kyle Kennett, Lanie and Emerson Meeks, and Kaitlyn and Kolten DeWeese.
