As part of Friday’s cleanup project at Thomas Park in Berryville, city workers and volunteers planted two new red maple trees in the park trees, complete with decorative stone borders provided by the city. Planting the trees were (from left) Zed Watson, Berryville parks director Joe Scott, assistant parks director Renee Allison, event organizer Katy Generaux, Dwayne Generaux and James Generaux. In addition to planting the trees, approximately 40 volunteers picked up trash and litter on the streets surrounding the park and a few other areas in town. Katy Generaux said she hopes to organize at least two more park cleanups before the fall. ‘I’m really glad people were able to get out and get involved,’ she said.
