The Green Forest Lady Tigers had one of their best basketball seasons in years in 2020-21, led by senior Maddie Youngblood.

Youngblood, who was recently named to the 3A-1 West all-conference team scored a team-high 12.5 points a game as the Lady Tigers advanced to the regional tournament. She shot just under 70 percent from the free-throw line, averaged 3.3 rebounds a game and tied for second on the team in steals.

Youngblood scored 17 points in a first-round district tournament victory over Greenland that clinched the regional tournament bid for Green Forest.

Green Forest juniors Samantha Delavin and Karlee Smothers were named honorable mention all-conference selections.

Delavin scored 16 points in the district tournament victory over Lincoln, including 11 in the fourth quarter. She averaged six points and four rebounds a game and led the team in steals.

Smothers, a transfer from Western Grove, averaged 9.6 points a game before suffering a season-ending knee injury in late January. Smothers made six three-pointers and scored 31 points in a regular-season victory over Greenland. She averaged 5.6 rebounds per game, shot 77 percent from the free-throw line and tied Youngblood for second on the team in steals.
