Cedarville nips Tigers
Green Forest coach Shane Compton believes the Tigers have a chance to compete in the 3A-1 conference after struggling for the past few seasons.
A 44-41 home loss to an athletic Cedarville team on Monday, Dec. 21 at the Grim Gym didn’t dampen that optimism, although Compton says the Tigers have yet to put a full game together.
In fact, Compton says Green Forest had a chance to beat Cedarville.
“We missed six free throws in the fourth quarter,” he said.
Senior Daniel McDonald scored 12 points for the Tigers and classmate Adrian Serna had 10. Junior Jordan McLoud added nine points for Green Forest, which was coming off a 51-33 victory over Salem on Friday, Dec. 18.
McDonald scored 22 points in the win against Salem, with Serna adding 11 and McLoud nine.
Cedarville beat the Green Forest girls, 52-34.
Both Green Forest teams will return to action Tuesday, Jan. 5, hosting Lincoln.
