Lady Bobcats have momentum heading into districts

Valley Springs scored the first run of the game. The Lady Bobcats scored the next 12 en route to a five inning sportsmanship rule 12-1 victory Monday evening. Emma Hill pitched another complete game, striking out 11 and only allowing two hits. She also drove in four runs on two hits. Ciera Foster drove in three on a hit and Allie Ashford drove in one on three hits.

The Lady Tigers scored in the top of the first and held the Lady Bobcats scoreless for the first two innings. In the bottom of the third, the Lady Bobcats scored eight runs. An Ashford single to center scored Bailey Donahoe and a wild pitch scored Callie Harp. Ashford scored on a passed ball and Kailey Boaz, a courtesy runner for Hill, stole home. Foster hit a three run home run to right. After the Lady Bobcats loaded the bases, Donahoe singled to left, scoring Charnette Warren. A wild pitch scored Hannah Noble for a 8-1 lead. After a scoreless fourth, Hill hit a grand slam, scoring Donahoe, Harp and Ashford. This put the 10-run sportsmanship rule into effect, ending the game.

Berryville 4, Gentry 1

BERRYVILLE -- Another strong pitching performance from Emma Hill led the Berryville Lady Bobcats to a victory over Gentry on Thursday evening.

Hill pitched a complete game, striking out 14 batters and allowing one run.

Offensively, Ciera Foster had two hits and drove in a run while Hannah Pruente, Allie Ashford and Charnette Warren each had a hit and an RBI.

In the bottom of the first, Callie Harp reached base on a Lady Pioneer error and an Ashford triple scored Harp for a 1-0 lead. After the early score, the Lady Bobcats were only able to get runners in scoring position one more time: in the sixth inning.

A Harp double started the inning and an error by Gentry put runners on the corners. A Hill walk loaded the bases and a Pruente single to left scored Harp. A Foster single to right scored Ashford and a Warren single to center scored Kailey Boaz, Hill's courtesy runner.

The Lady Pioneers hit a solo home run to left in the top of the seventh.

The Lady Bobcats start the district tournament at 6 p.m. Thursday in Huntsville. They will play the winner of Huntsville vs. Prairie Grove.
