Malcolm L. "Jake" Casterline

Malcolm L. "Jake" Casterline, a resident of Holiday Island, AR, was born May 6, 1931 in Wilkes-Barre, PA a son of Walter and Margaret (Kirtley) Casterline. He departed this life Monday, April 18, 2011 in Berryville, at the age of 79 years.

Jake worked as an RN in the medical field. He was a member of the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Eureka Springs. Jake proudly served his country in the United States Army during both the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

On November 11, 1995, Jake was united in marriage with Judith Baxter who survives him of the home. He is also survived by two brothers, Jerry and David Casterline of California; two sisters, Mary Grassi and Sharman Sufleta of Pennsylvania; one nephew, Glen Casterline of California; several other nieces and nephews; one very close friend, Frank Baker of Kansas City, KS; and a host of other family and friends.

Jake was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Margaret Casterline; one brother, Glenn; two sisters, Monica and Jenabelle; and his first wife, Shirley Sue (Beeler) Casterline.

Visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Nelson's Chapel of the Springs in Eureka Springs with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 30 Crescent Drive in Eureka Springs with Father Shaun Wesley officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Cabool Cemetery, Cabool, MO under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
