Crash kills 34-year-old
EUREKA SPRINGS -- A 34-year-old Harrison man, Michael A. Jeter, was killed in a one-vehicle traffic accident west of Eureka Springs early Sunday morning.
According to authorities, the accident occurred at 1:08 a.m. when Jeter, traveling west on U.S. Hwy. 62 in a 2009 Dodge pickup, failed to negotiate a sharp right-hand curve one mile west of Eureka Springs.
The pickup crossed the eastbound traffic lane and left the roadway. It overturned down a steep embankment and struck several trees. Jeter was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene, said State Trooper Cpl. William K. Trevathan in his report.
The weather was good and the highway dry, Trevathan said. Jeter was not wearing a seat belt.
