VolleyTigers swamp Panther team
BERGMAN-- The Lady Panthers may have been just the confidence builders the Lady Tiger volleyball teams needed last Thursday during three blowout victories.
The Green Forest varsity moved its record to 6-1 with 25-8, 25-3 and 25-18 scores. The JV won 25-8, 25-10, and the junior high won 25-8, 25-13.
"Bergman has improved since the first of the year when we played them in a tournament," Coach Trista Killingsworth said. "We had a slow start, then served a lot of points the second game.
"We didn't have as many kills the third game. Bergman was on the floor, saving a lot of balls and that kept it closer."
In game one, Lindsay Kilbourn, Misti Baker, senior Emily Campbell, and Amelia Villines all had a kill. Beth Campbell added 11 points in a row off her serve, then Emily Campbell served the game out.
In game two, Villines had 3 kills, and Beth Campbell, Baker and Emily Campbell 1 each. Makayla Jorgensen served 7 points in a row, then Kilbourn served 13 in a row.
In game three, Villines had 2 kills, Baker and Kilbourn 1 each, and Melanie Anton some good passes.
In game one, Elicia Hankins got 8 points off her serve, then?Carley Arnold came right behind her and served 9 in a row.
In game two, sophomore Emily Campbell had 2 kills, and Coach Killingsworth said Megan Barinsky played the net "very well."
