Nazarenes launching ministry to Hispanics
Berryville Church of the Nazarene, located at 204 Trinnen Lane just west of Highway 21 in Berryville, is launching a Hispanic ministry with the Rev. Manuel Rodriguez and his wife, Yasmin Rodriguez.
Spanish services will start on Saturday, Dec. 4, at 5 p.m. at the church. Rev. Rodriguez will also be involved with organizations that bring help to families in need, and home groups, "Groups of Pastoral Care," will also be starting.
The couple is currently leading a thriving Hispanic ministry at First Church of the Nazarene in Rogers, and will commute to Berryville to launch the ministry here. Previously, they had grown a strong Hispanic congregation in El Paso, Texas, over the course of three years.
They have three sons, Beck, Juan Manuel, and Sinohe, and a daughter, Cindy, all of whom serve in different areas of Christian ministry.
Prior to pastoring, Rev. Rodriguez was a civil engineer, serving as an executive in different areas of his company, Petroleum Mexicans. He was also a martial arts instructor for 10 years.
Mrs. Rodriguez has a professional career as a physical education coach. This has allowed her to work with children of all ages for eight years in Mexico and for four years in the United States.
The Rodriguez family's purpose is to help the Hispanic community that lives in Berryville and surrounding areas to increase their family values and support their spiritual needs. They are hoping to begin a big Christian family that lives under the fortification of Jesus Christ and His church.
